A workshop on the future utilisation and potential of the Arctic Sea Urchin Resource will be held in Copenhagen during the 11th and 12th of December 2018. At the workshop various aspects important in harvesting sea urchins will be covered such as markets, global supply, fishing techniques, processing and transport to markets, fisheries management as well as new options in roe enhancement and farming. The status in the utilisation of the Nordic sea urchin resource will be covered and presentation given by selected companies that are currently harvesting urchins. The workshop is held jointly by Matís (Iceland), Marine & Freshwater Research Institute (Iceland), NOFIMA (Norway) and Greenland Institute of Natural Resources (Greenland).
